303 High Tech Fabric Guard
By Joe Mcdonald303 High Tech Fabric Guard is a non toxic, ozone safe advanced fluoropolymer protectant that can be used effectively on a wide variety of fabrics. It is specifically designed to provide excellent water & oil repellency, superior stain resistance and to prevent the formation of mildew. It protects from the harshest of environments, yet is safe enough to be used on the finest wools and silks.
A great feature of this fabric guard unlike others is that it also provides high quality UV protection, which helps to prevent any treated surfaces from fading or becoming prematurely damaged by the sun. This is a particularly attractive feature if you are using the product to treat any exterior fabrics like like a convertible top for instance.
The versatility of 303 High Tech Fabric Guard means that not only can it be used to protect parts of your car but it can also be used in and around the home to protect things like clothing, garden gazebos, garden furniture, tents, vehicle and boat covers... the potential uses for the product are huge.
The fabric guard dries odourless which is ideal if you are going to use it to protect interior surfaces or clothing for example, as the last thing you want after cleaning and protecting your fabrics is to be overwhelmed by a strong unpleasant chemical smelling odour.
303 High Tech Fabric Guard gives months of protection which can vary slightly depending on the conditions that the treated fabrics are exposed to but it is definitely one of the most durable fabric guards available. Ideally it should be reapplied every 3-4 months to maintain an optimum level of protection yet even if this is not done you should still see some level of protection for up to six months.
A very good quality, high performing and flexible product, 303 High Tech Fabric Guard will give your fabrics months of not only water, oil, stain and mildew repellency but also crucial UV protection. It is also a great product to use in addition to 303 Aerospace protectant which will rejuvenate and protect all of your hard surfaces.
Don't Buy The Escort Passport 9500ix Radar Detector Until You Have Read This Review
By Ian HardimanWriting reviews of radar detectors like the Escort Passport 9500ix can sometimes be good, sometimes be bad. One thing's for sure though - I never get bored with it. Escort have been around for a long time now, gradually improving their radar detector technology with each subsequent model.
The new Escort Passport iQ seems to be the gadget everyone's talking about. The Passport iQ combines Escort Radar Detection with a TomTom style GPS navigation function. For me personally, I don't think the iQ is that great a radar detector or GPS though. The best GPS is undoubtedly the Tomtom and, in my opinion, the best radar detector is the Passport 9500ix.
Rather than try to tack on GPS navigation (as they've done with the iQ), Escort have used the GPS functionality of the Passport 9500ix to help create the best radar detector on the market. By using GPS, the Passport 9500 "learns" where false alarms occur. This is a wonderful feature. You won't ever have to slam on the brakes as you drive by the convenience store with the automatic door openers ever again!
The Passport 9500 ix also uses GPS in another clever way. GPS technology is used to measure your speed. The faster you go, the greater the range of the unit's radar detection is set to. This means, the Escort unit always gives you plenty of warning and time to slow down.
As an added bonus, Escort even provide you with protection from speed traps that don't use radar at all. Included with the unit is 3 months free access to a database of all known speed cameras across North America. Using it's GPS capabilities, the Escort Passport 9500ix will warn you when one's nearby.
The Passport 9500 is beautifully made and designed. The screen is clear and bright - reading the warning messages is no problem at all, even on the brightest of days. Audible alarms are loud and noticeable but they don't become annoying.
Compared to lots of other models available, the 9500ix is relatively compact and is easily installed using the supplied windscreen suction mount. A clever feature is the Smart cord that both powers the unit and provides a more covert warning when discretion is required.
All in all, the Escort Passport 9500ix is the most sensitive and effective radar detector I've ever tested. It's not the cheapest but it is the best. I highly recommend it.
The Top 5 Reasons to Use Synthetic Motor Oil
By Ron HaugenIf you are a new car owner, or the owner of a new car, chances are you have thought about oil. After all, if you want your engine to run well, and efficiently, you are going to have to make it a top priority to check your motor oil regularly to ensure that it isn't burnt, or low. And chances are, you have probably also heard the tales of synthetic oil, this new oil not made from minerals. Many claim it gives better performance, and tests have shown this to be true. But why should you use synthetic motor oil? Well, we'll give you five reasons why.
Reason Number One: Money
Money is a top priority for most. The more you can save, the more often you can afford to buy the things that you like. Saving money also allows you to put more away in to your savings for your future. Synthetic oil is hands down cheaper than mineral oil. Why is this? Because mineral oil is a natural (albeit diluted by the time it reaches your hands) resource that is quickly growing scarcer and scarcer, making the price of it rise steadily, while synthetic oil lasts longer.
Reason Number Two: Performance
Everyone cares about their engine performance far more than they let on. It is a proven fact; people car about the way their cars run because their cars are investments, and everyone wants to get the most out of an investment, right? With synthetic oil, engine performance improves greatly. This is because synthetic oil is cleaner, more efficient, and it makes your engine work less. New car owners commonly choose synthetic engine oil for this very reason; it keeps their new engine running like new.
Reason Number Three: Easy Flowing
Flow is a real problem with some oils. This is because they are either so thick, or so filled with impurities, that they don't flow through your engine properly. This can cause a whole host of problems, none of which should be your priority to rush right in to. Synthetic oil flows easily through your engine, which is a quality that makes if perfect for mid-mileage vehicles and especially for newer performance vehicles, as it means that the engine has to do far less work.
Reason Number Four: Longer Lasting
It has been proven time and time again in order comparison tests that synthetic motor oil lasts far longer than mineral engine oil. This is because it takes far longer for synthetic oil to heat up to a degree where it could be damaged, and has better evaporation.
Reason Number Five: Less Engine Wear
Synthetic oil is slipper. Slippery oil means less engine wear. Less engine wear means that your engine lasts longer. A longer lasting engine means a longer lasting car, and ultimately this means that you get more bang for the buck from your vehicle, just as you do from your synthetic motor oil.
